FIR against Maharashtra YouTube channel for child sexual abuse content

The Maharashtra Cyber Cell filed a First Information Report (FIR) against a YouTube channel and others for displaying "Child Sexual Abuse Material" (CSAM). The National Commission for the Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) notified the Maharashtra Cyber Cell of the presence of child pornography on a specific YouTube channel, prompting an immediate investigation.

Maharashtra's Cyber Police discovered an indecent film starring a four-year-old girl on the aforementioned YouTube channel. As a result, a case has been filed against the channel and those implicated under Section 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the IT Act (relating to sexual harassment by electronic means), and POCSO.

They said that the Maharashtra Cyber Police traced that the channel was being operated by a Palghar resident and added that thus far, no arrest has been made in the case, stated the ANI report.

Meanwhile, in another Navi Mumbai police booked a man his mother and his friend for abetment of suicide after a 28-year-old married woman allegedly ended her life in the Nerul area. According to a report, an official from Vashi Police Station said that Bhavika Sutar hung herself at her home in Shirvane village on Thursday, January 5.

The complaint was filed by the woman's father claiming she was being relentlessly tortured mentally and physically by her in-laws.

The Navi Mumbai police filed a First Information Report under sections 498 (a) (husband or relative of husband subjecting a woman to cruelty) and 306 (suicide abetment) of the Indian Penal Code against her husband Pritam Sutar (35), mother-in-law Asha Sutar (55), and Pritam's friend Ashutosh Patil (32), an official told PTI and added that no arrests were made.

Meanwhile, Navi Mumbai police reported on Thursday that they had filed a complaint against the bank manager and two other individuals for allegedly defrauding a 37-year-old lady by falsifying the paperwork of a shop that was sold to her to obtain a loan. In 2012, two of the accused sold the shop located in the Kamothe area of Navi Mumbai to a woman, who is a resident of Antop Hill in neighbouring Mumbai.
