Mumbai University has announced the final dates for admissions for the academic year 2024-25 but with a rider. The varsity administration has issued a warning to its affiliated colleges that if they fail to conduct admission procedures as per the schedule, the delay will cause them penalties.
In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, the MU spokesperson said, "Some colleges do not initiate the admission process on time. As a result, students whose admission applications have not been submitted within the stipulated period are not registered with the university, or if they have been registered, their examination hall tickets are not prepared due to the incomplete process or the current process being incomplete when declared. Hence, hurdles are being created for future admissions and even in the examination process. This will not be tolerated henceforth."
To ensure this doesn't happen in the upcoming academic year, Mumbai University has announced the final admission dates for all faculty and courses for the academic year 2024-25. "If colleges do not complete the admission process as per the schedule released by the university, they will be penalised. A directive has been issued through a circular on Tuesday," the MU spokesperson.
Pending cases
If there are any pending cases from the academic years 2020-21 and 2021-22 in colleges, then as per the decision of the University Management Council and Dr Prasad Karande, i/c director, Board of Examinations and Evaluation, information about them has to be submitted to the university by February 15, 2024.
