A monetary dispute lead to a scrap dealer turn to extortion against his business rival. The accused used an accomplice who was as an aide of gangster Suresh Pujari to make the threatening calls in order to acquire the amount.

According to a report in the Indian Express, he was nabbed by the Anti-Extortion Cell of the Mumbai Police after his calls were traced to an Ashraf Ali alias Ashok. This lead them to a Radhakrishna Tripathi, who after interrogation revealed to have resorted to the deed owing to a dispute between both of them.
