The Mumbai Police on Friday arrested three people supplying MD, cocaine and charas across the city and seized Rs 1 crore-worth drugs from them, in two separate raids. The accused were caught red-handed, while supplying drugs in the Andheri and Dharavi area.
In the first case, Unit 10 of the crime branch arrested a Nigerian identified as Olivar Dibba Niki, 42, a resident of Mira Road near Azad Nagar Metro station. The crime branch seized around 200 gm MD worth Rs 20 lakh, 34 gram cocaine worth Rs 10.20 lakh and a mobile phone from him.
According to officials, the Nigerian national was found roaming at the station with a black plastic bag. The officers found his movements suspicious and followed him. When they learnt that he had been earlier arrested in 2019, they accosted Niki and found drugs on him. Meanwhile, the Anti-Narcotics Cell, Bandra Unit arrested two people from Dharavi area and seized around 2.25 gm of charas worth Rs 60.75 lakh from them.
The arrested accused have been identified as Sunil Nayak, 45, and Newaji Miya, 60. The trio has been booked under Sections 8(K), 21(b), 22(k) of the NDPS Act.
