In the bustling city of Mumbai, legal professionals navigate the intricate web of hardcore crimes, shedding light on their challenging experiences. The city-based legal eagles, armed with determination and expertise, unveil the gritty reality of dealing with serious offences.
As the legal fraternity grapples with an array of criminal cases in the city, Mumbai-based lawyers recount their encounters with the darkest facets of the society.
A senior Mumbai Police official, who requested anonymity says, "To investigate what may have led to the crime, one also needs to understand the mentality of a criminal and the circumstances under which the crime was committed."
He said, "Some crimes are also committed in rage while some are part of a deep conspiracy. The ones committed in rage are mostly murders and in most of the cases, the suspect is at large after the crime. As a crime investigator, the cop must at first begin with every little detail of the incident available at the crime scene and simultaneously gather all possible evidence in place. These play an extremely important role in nabbing the culprit and prosecuting him in the courts of law. The more evidence gathered leads to a watertight case and eventually becomes a perfect case of conviction."

He added, another important aspect is that an investigator also must establish the sequence of events during a crime, this helps in understanding the mentality of the suspect and the circumstances in which the crime was committed, making it easier for confessions to the crimes and bringing the case to a logical conclusion.
Hardcore crimes including murder, drug trafficking, and organised crimes are constant adversaries that demand the utmost focus and resilience. The complexity of these cases requires legal practitioners to delve into exhaustive investigations.
Criminal lawyer Sunil Pandey who practices in Mumbai courts says, "As lawyers, we see some cases in which people are also victims of circumstances and they need to be dealt with accordingly. As an advocate, it is also our job to educate them about their legal rights. Most criminals, once tried in criminal cases, have their families affected too because they are unaware of the financial implications in legal matters, and evidence is credited against them to proceed with legal matters. The delays in trials may also have negative effects. Sometimes our role extends beyond the courtroom. We work hard to ensure that every piece of evidence is scrutinised."
Despite the formidable challenges, legal eagles in Mumbai persist in their pursuit of justice.
Advocate Shaan Ilahi says, "A criminal mentality has no concern for anyone or anything other than itself. The criminal chooses his associates' lifestyles and the types of crimes he commits. They demonstrate that criminals reject society's value of people to the point that they can be deceived. In general, three types of elements are involved in criminal behaviour. In reality, physiological, biological, and social factors Human behaviour is the result of several elements interacting in a complex way.
He added, "While the cases are sometimes tough, our commitment to upholding the law and ensuring justice remains unwavering. Each successful prosecution is a triumph for the legal system."
