Party sources told ANI that there was a 55-minute discussion about the ensuing Vidhan Sabha elections due in October 2024. This included positive preliminary talks about the 12 state assembly seats that have been short-listed by the CPI(M) state committee.
There was also a brief discussion on a vision document, alternative policies, and electoral tactics. The CPI(M) submitted a memorandum dealing with all these issues, the sources told ANI.
Sharad Pawar stressed the need to intervene on the issue of a remunerative price for milk farmers. Holding a workers' demonstration in the coming state assembly session was also discussed.
The sources further told ANI that a CPI(M) delegation will soon meet leaders of the other two main constituents of the MVA-INDIA bloc - the Congress and the Shiv Sena (UBT).
