Covid-19: Mumbai sees 214 new cases, 4 deaths

Doubling rate improves. City’s test positivity rate at 0.59 percent

The city saw a marginal drop in new cases along with the test positivity rate on Saturday. While the daily cases remained above 200, the city's TPR was at 0.59%, along with four deaths. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, there were 214 new cases. Two of the deceased had co-morbidities. All the four deceased were above 60 years of age.

The doubling rate significantly improved and was 2,711 days on Saturday. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 296 people recovered and were discharged on Saturday. The state saw a significant drop in new cases and Covid-19 fatalities. As per the state health department report, 738 cases were reported along with 17 deaths across the state.

The state's case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 889 recovered and got discharged on Saturday. Currently, the state has 8,237 active cases. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a significant drop in new cases.
