After crossing the 3,000 mark on Friday, Mumbai registered slightly fewer cases on Saturday. But, the number of cases and deaths in the state is rising. Maharashtra reported over 27,000 cases on a single day with 6,100 cases in the Pune circle alone. MMR, including Mumbai, reported 5,600 cases. The state registered 92 deaths and the city reported seven deaths.
The city reported 2,982 cases from 24,441 tests. On Friday, the city had reported 3,062 cases, the maximum till now. The test positivity rate - positive results among 100 tests also climbed up to 12.2 per cent from three per cent in the first week of February, and recovery rate is down to 91 per cent.
With the recovery of 1,780 patients on the same day, the city now has 21,335 thousand active cases. The city had five thousand active patients a month ago, on March 12. There were seven deaths on the same day, and five patients had comorbidities. One death occurred below 40 years, one was between 40 to 60 years and the rest were above 60 years of age.
The state's recovery rate has dropped below 90 per cent. It was higher than 95 per cent a month ago. A total of 13,588 patients were discharged across Maharashtra on Saturday, and the number of active cases increased to 1.91 lakh. The state had around 30,000 active cases in the first week of February.
