The number of cases and deaths in the state as well as in the city has been constant for a while. The state reported 2,936 cases, 50 deaths on Tuesday. The city reported less than 500 cases and 7 deaths.
The cumulative number of patients in the city is now 2,99,796. As per the rate of cases, the city could cross 3 lakh patients on Wednesday. The city crossed 1 lakh patients on July 18 and 2 lakh patients on September 28. While the cases increased from one to two lakh within 72 days, the last one lakh patients were added in 110 days.
As the tests increased from 9,500 on Sunday to 13,250 on Monday, the daily cases increased from 434 to 473. But the test positivity rate is still under 5 per cent. The city reported 7 deaths, out of which 4 patients had co-morbidities. One patient was between 40 years and 60 years and 6 patients were above 60 years of age. At least 440 patients recovered in the city and the active patients' number now stands at 7,390.
As the number of tests increased on Monday in comparison to Sunday, the cases also increased across the state. The state had registered 2,438 patients on Sunday. At least 922 cases were reported in the MMR including Mumbai. Thane Municipal Corporation (103) and Kalyan Dombivali (101) have cases in three digits apart from Mumbai. Cases in the interior parts of the state like Pune, Nashik and Nagpur circle reported around 500 cases each.
The cumulative number of cases in the state is 19.74 lakh and the recovery rate of the state is now 94.8 per cent. At least 3,282 patients recovered and there are 52,000 active patients in the state.
