After recording the second wave's lowest test positivity rate (TPR) at 0.53 per cent on Thursday, Mumbai saw a rise in TPR on Saturday at 0.74 per cent. The city, however, saw a dip in new cases as figures fell below 300. As per the BMC, 259 new cases were reported with five deaths in the city.
The rise in TPR can also be attributed to dip in testing done on Saturday. The doubling rate dipped for the third consecutive day and was 2,023 days. The city's recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 281 people recovered and were discharged on Saturday.
The state's Covid-19 cases saw a rise at 4,575. The state recorded 145 deaths.

Meanwhile, the vaccination drive at public centres resumed on Saturday after being shut for two days. After vaccinating one lakh beneficiaries on Saturday, the drive will once again shut on Sunday.
Saturday's drive came as a relief for those who were eyeing to take the second dose.
The total number of inoculations done in Mumbai till Saturday since January 16 are over 85.02 lakh.
