The daily Covid-19 cases in the city dipped below 500 on Monday, and the fatalities halved from Sunday. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) updated data, Mumbai registered 489 new infections and 10 deaths.
The test positivity rate (TPR) of infections in the city saw a marginal rise, after recording a new low of second wave on Sunday. It was 1.59 per cent on Monday, according to the civic body's data. The city's TPR has been constantly below 2 per cent since June 27. On Sunday it was 1.47 per cent.
The doubling rate of novel Coronavirus infections continues to improve and was recorded at 802 days on Monday.

Among the 10 newly confirmed fatalities, seven patients had comorbidities, five were in the 40-59 years age group and five were senior citizens.
The recovery rate in the city stayed at 96 per cent, and 645 people recovered and were discharged on Monday.
The state registered 6,740 new Covid-19 cases, a significant decline from Sunday's tally. According to the state health department report, Covid-19 fatalities also saw a significant drop and stayed below 100 for the second consecutive day. A total of 51 deceased were confirmed to be Covid-19-positive on Monday.
The case fatality rate in the state remained constant at 2.1 per cent, and a total of 13,027 people recovered and were discharged. Currently, the state has nearly 1.16 lakh active cases.
The daily cases also fell in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), at 1,418, including the ones reported in Mumbai. Apart from Mumbai, Thane, with 127 cases, and Raigad, with 268, reported the maximum number of new tally in the MMR.
Navi Mumbai reported 86 new cases, Kalyan-Dombivli 119 and Vasai-Virar 52. The MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered seven Covid-19 fatalities on Monday, all in Raigad.
