The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), on Wednesday, said that it had temporarily suspended vaccination of beneficiaries in the 18-44 category, a day after health minister Rajesh Tope told the media that it might happen soon over shortage of shots. Sources said the BMC will divert all the resources to inoculate those above 45 without any hassles.

On Thursday morning, the civic body issued a list of vaccination centres functioning in the city for the day. However, there is a change in process this time. As per BMC's tweet, no walk-ins will be allowed even to frontline and health workers. Additionally, no Covaxin shots will be available today. This means, many might not be able to get their second dose of the vaccine.

It is also to be noted, that many of the listed vaccination centres, including the jumbo facilities at NESCO and BKC will start functioning after 12 noon.

In its tweet, BMC also appealed to beneficiaries to keep a track of vaccination centres on the CoWIN app as "more centres are likely to open slots throughout the day apart from those listed here."
