The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed in a tweet that vaccination against Covid-19 will be carried out at select centres with limited stock for the age group of 45 years and above on Friday between 1 pm and 5 pm. However, the list includes a few centres that will start operating from 12 noon, including the jumbo facility at NESCO and a few others which will begin vaccination after 2pm.
Also, the civic body won't allow walk-ins even for health and frontline workers on Friday. The vaccination drive will remain suspended over the weekend.

Notably, the said vaccination centres will administer the first and second doses of only Covishield to beneficiaries above 45 years of age for the second consecutive day even after the Covaxin stock being diverted for this age group.
On Thursday, a total of 6,541 people from the younger lot were vaccinated during the second shift of Wednesday and the first shift on Thursday. Of these, 50 doses were administered in civic-run centres and the rest were in private centres like H N Reliance, Criticare, Kohinoor and Nanavati hospitals. A total of 31,377 doses were administered, out of which 10,953 were for senior citizens above 60 years and 12,184 were for the age group of 45 to 60 years.
