A couple was found dead in their house at Virar East early on Wednesday. The police suspect the man died due to kidney disease and his wife hanged herself after that. The Virar police have sent the bodies for post mortem and registered an Accidental Death Report.
The couple identified as Narendra Singh Parmar, 24, and his wife Santoshkuwar, 22, stayed at Dadu Classique Apartment at Manvelpada in Virar East. Police said the couple married two years ago at Rajasthan and shifted to Mumbai. The police haven't found a suicide note.
According to the police, about a year back, Parmar had been diagnosed with kidney disease and was under treatment. They said due to the lockdown the Parmars' financial condition was bad and they were not able to pay the rent of the house. Parmar was jobless in the lockdown. However, few days ago, he had got a job in another kirana shop at Virar.

Speaking to mid-day, PSI Abhijeet Tailor of Virar police station said, "On Wednesday, as Narendra Singh was not receiving calls, at 10 am his brother went to his flat and found the main door open. He saw Narendra lying dead and his wife hanging from the ceiling fan. He informed us. We assume Narendra died in the night and later his wife killed herself in depression. We sent the bodies for postmortem and are waiting for the report. Till now we haven't found anything suspicious in this matter."
