Online system for FYJC aspirants started on Tuesday, with students facing severe lags

Students said they had a harrowing time trying to register for CET through the online system

With another technical glitch, the Maharashtra State Board has now stopped the registration process for the Common Entrance Test for FYJC admission, a day after it started on Tuesday. Amid complaints by students over the online system, the state board issued a circular about halting the process though it did not specify the restart date.

"The online registration process for the CET was scheduled from July 20 to 26, 2021. After day one, on July 21 the said process was on from 11am to 1pm. But due to technical issues, it has been stopped now until further notice. Once the system resumes, all stakeholders will be informed about it and adequate additional time will be allotted to complete the registration," states the circular issued on Wednesday late evening.

The first-ever CET seems to be marred with glitches from the beginning. While on the first day of registration, students complained of severe delays in the online process, it had to be stopped on Day 2.

The Maharashtra State Board is constantly facing technical issues since the Secondary School Certificate result was declared last Friday. The SSC result website was inaccessible to students for almost 6 hours from noon, the scheduled time. The state education minister Varsha Gaikwad has set up a committee to probe into the technical failure.
