On October 7, in a surprise visit to the hospital, Sanjay Shripatrao Katkar, Commissioner and Administrator of Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC), inspected the civic-run Bharat Ratna Indira Gandhi Hospital.
The primary focus of the visit was to review the health system within the hospital. Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Shinde, Medical Health Officer Nandkishore Lahne, and other hospital staff, accompanied him during the inspection.
The commissioner expressed that ensuring an efficient health system is a top priority for the Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation.
The Commissioner assessed various aspects of the hospital, including the availability of a sufficient stock of medicines, the presence of doctors and required manpower, and the availability of necessary treatment equipment.

Immediate reporting to the concerned officer regarding any need for additional medicine or materials was stressed, with clear instructions to promptly fulfill these requirements, the press release from Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation stated.
The Commissioner also emphasised the importance of maintaining clean hospital toilets, reinforcing this directive to hospital staff.
