CCTVs to be installed in Navi Mumbai civic schools

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra's Thane district has decided to install CCTV cameras in its schools for better security of students and teaching staff, a civic official said on Saturday.

To begin with, the corporation will install CCTV cameras in 55 schools, said Mahendra Konde, public relations officer of the municipal body.

The surveillance cameras will be installed under the corporation's Shikshan Vision¿ programme aimed at improving the quality of education and all-round development of students, said Konde.

Civic schools in Navi Mumbai add over 1,000 students every year, he said.
