Borivali-bound train uncouples at Marine Lines station
A suburban Mumbai local train bound for Borivali witnessed an uncoupling between the third coach and the rest of the train. The incident occurred at precisely 11:02 am on Sunday, leaving passengers on board bewildered and requiring immediate evacuation, official sources said.
The local train had departed from the Churchgate station at 10:57 am and was headed for Borivali when the incident took place. The sudden uncoupling caused an immediate cessation of the train's progress and prompted emergency protocols to ensure the safety of all passengers.
"Third coach from rear end of suburban local got uncoupled while entering Marine Lines station at 11.02 hrs. The said local had departed from Churchgate at 10.57 hrs for Borivali. The passengers were detrained and the local will be taken to carshed. Down slow locals are being diverted from Down fast line," an official said.
The railways officials acted swiftly to ensure the safety the passengers on board. In accordance with established safety procedures, commuters were carefully and efficiently detrained. No injuries or casualties have been reported in connection with the incident.

Currently, the detached third coach and the rest of the local train are being dealt with by railway staff. The train, including the affected coach, will be taken to the carshed for a thorough inspection and any necessary repairs.
The incident has had a cascading effect on the Mumbai local train network. Down slow locals have been temporarily diverted from the down fast line to maintain the fluidity and continuity of suburban rail services.
