BREAKING: Major fire breaks out at Heera Panna Mall in Mumbai's Oshiwara, 2 admitted in hospital

A fire broke out at Heera Panna Mall near Oshiwara police station in Jogeshwari, as per the civic official.

The incident took place around 15.10 pm on Friday. The incident was reported by BMC's Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB).

As per the details, MFB declared it to be a level 3 fire, at 15.38 pm.

The entire building has been evacuated," informed the BMC official.

Agencies mobilized included MFB, Police, 108 ambulances, and BMC ward staff.

"Four people were rescued and admitted to Kokilaben hospital due to suffocation. Two of them were admitted in ICU and other two were treated and discharged," added the BMC official.

While, 69-year-old Raj Pribhdas Israni and 39-year-old Amruta Mukesh Sagar - both are admitted in the private hospital due to smoke inhalation, Mitesh Sheth (39) and Sachin More (41) were given treatment and got discharged.

According to the official, five persons stranded in gym were rescued from terrace using TTL, Two male and a female rescued using Angus ladder and six male persons were rescued through staircase. Total 14 people were safely rescued."

"Fire confined to electric wiring electric installation in 10 to 12 shops on 2nd and 3rd floor of one basement and ground plus upper three floored structure used as mall. Fire is also confined to to electric wiring and electric installation in the electric duct," the official added.

Five small hose lines and one high pressure first aid line of motor pumps are in operation.

Three firefighters of MP45 Goregaon Fire Station suffocated due to the thick smoke.

"Sandip Maruti Patil, Raju Uttam Shingankar were shifted to Cooper hospital and Yogesh Kondawar was shifted to civic-run Trauma care centre hospital in 108 ambulance. They are said to be stable condition," the civic official.
