A goods train derailed in the Panvel-Kalamboli section, causing disruption in Central line services on Saturday afternoon. The derailment, involving four wagons and the brake van of UP goods train en route from Panvel to Vasai, occurred between the Panvel and Kalamboli stations.
"Efforts are underway to restore normalcy and address the situation promptly," stated the Central Railway official.
The train derailment incident in Panvel-Kalamboli section happened at 3.05 pm.

The incident has impacted the UP line (Panvel to Diva direction line), while the DOWN line (Diva to Panvel direction line) remains unaffected, informed the Central Railway.
The CR officials further informed that an Accident Relief Train (ART) has been dispatched from Kalyan and Kurla to the accident site, and a Road ART has been sent from Panvel to assist in the restoration efforts. "Restoration work is expected to commence promptly to ensure the smooth resumption of rail services," the CR official said.
Due to the derailment, several mail and express trains have been detained at various stations along the affected route. The affected mail and express trains are stationed at specific locations until the situation is resolved and normal rail traffic resumes.
