All new 11 schools started by Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) have received affiliation from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The announcement was made by Maharashtra's cabinet minister Aaditya Thackeray.
He made the declaration through his Twitter handle on Wednesday evening. Civic body's schools in affiliation with popular CBSE board was a brainchild of Thackeray. He tweeted, "This news is truly wonderful as it further strengthens our dream to provide quality education in BMC schools. As we now work with SSC, CBSE boards in BMC, we also look forward to working with ICSE, Cambridge, and IB boards to provide a variety of quality, free education for every child learning in the BMC school."

Incidentally, all these schools had their first day today as schools reopened as they were launched during the lockdown. Starting from admissions to academics, everything was happening online in schools. On December 15, the schools actually held a session first time ever in person.
