BJP leader Mohit Kamboj has filed regularisation plans for approval and sought a personal hearing from the BMC after the civic body sent him a notice over alleged illegalities at his Santacruz West home. Kamboj lives at the 14-storey Khushi Pride Belmondo building.
In its notice of April 4, the BMC had said that changes were made at Kamboj's home without its permission and asked him to explain why the alterations should not be removed or the structure be restored as per the original plan. The notice gave seven days to the respondents to provide sufficient cause for the changes in the basement, first floor, 9th floor and terrace.
In his reply, Kamboj said, "The impugned notice issued by you [BMC] is illegal, void, bad in law and nullity and therefore you are requested to withdraw the same forthwith." It said that out of abundant caution, the developer - Hiral Classic Properties Private Limited - has applied for regularisation and requested the BMC to give a personal hearing.
"We have submitted our reply to BMC against the notice issued against my residence. We have also filed regularisation plans for approval," said Kamboj. On March 23, civic officials had inspected the premises for four hours.
