On Thursday, senior politician and former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Bhagat Singh Koshyari was sworn-in as the 19th Governor of Maharashtra. Interestingly, an unexpected gesture, the senior politician took oath as the Governor of Maharashtra in Marathi.
Koshyari, who has served as a college teacher in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district also greeted all the teachers on the occasion of Teachers Day as soon as he finished taking his oath. Earlier in the day, Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog of the Bombay High Court administered the oath of office and secrecy to the new Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.

The Governor's oath-taking ceremony was held at the sprawling Raj Bhavan facing the Arabian Sea. To everyone's surprise, the former CM of Uttarakhand took his entire oath In the regional language Marathi as the entire gathering expressed its approval with a thunderous round of applause.
Ajoy Mehta, Chief Secretary also read out the warrant of appointment issued by President Ram Nath Kovind and the event began and concluded with the playing of National Anthem by the Police Band.
