In a recent incident of a mob attack on Raveena Tandon in Bandra, the actor sent a defamation notice to a person who claimed to be a journalist and recorded a video that went viral on social media.
In her notice, Raveena claimed that the intent behind continuously spreading these falsehoods seems to be rooted in extortion and a desire to gain cheap publicity at the expense of her dignity. The actress also demanded damages to the tune of Rs 100 crore for defaming her. The notice was sent to Mohsin Shaikh, who claimed to be a journalist and to X Corp for uploading the video on X, where it reached more than 202k audiences and millions of viewers on other social media platforms.
A video went viral on social media in which Tandon and her driver could be seen confronting an angry crowd. The driver was accused of hitting a woman on the road and assaulting three others. In the video uploaded by Mohsin, the complainant claimed that Tandon's driver allegedly came out of the car and started abusing and assaulting his mother and daughter. Following this, a crowd of angry residents gathered at the spot and allegedly tried to attack the driver. Advocate Sana Raees Khan, on behalf of Tandon, sent a notice demanding the deletion of a defamatory video from X, which tarnished Tandon's reputation despite her previous request for its removal.

"Actress Raveena Tandon was shocked to see a defamatory post on X (@mohsinofficial) without any proof, circulating videos that defamed her," the notice stated.
"Several slanderous statements, including false claims about Tandon's conduct, were made without verification," it continued. Despite Tandon's efforts to clarify facts through investigation, video remained on X, spreading defamatory remarks from other users.
"Despite efforts to resolve this issue, including a formal request to delete the post, Shaikh refused and threatened legal action if the request wasn't withdrawn within 24 hours," the notice further elaborated.Advocate Sana Raees Khan said, "It seems they want to damage Raveena's reputation for personal gain."
"I urge media to verify facts before reporting. We support Raveena in seeking fairness over these false claims," Khan added.
However, Mohsin claimed he met Raveena Tandon after the incident. "I got the video through my source that night. The next morning, Tandon called me to her home with a politician. She wanted to explain her side and was satisfied with my tweet quoting Mumbai police facts, proving the allegations against her false. I tweeted from her bungalow and we took a selfie."
"Later, she called directly for all videos and documents, saying the police needed them. She insisted I delete the tweet, citing instructions from politician Baba Siddiqui and Nadeem Bhai. She promised no further allegations if I complied, but my lawyer Ali Kashif Khan advised against it, citing it as evidence. This angered her, leading to a defamation notice," he added.
"I'm also receiving threats from extremists on X. Initially she was polite, she later harassed me. I have all evidence to defend myself in court."
