Gajanan Kale
In another jolt to the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS), Thane district court rejected Navi Mumbai chief Gajanan Kale's anticipatory bail on Saturday. Kale's wife has filed an FIR in Nerul police station against him, alleging assault and harassment. It's been 10 days since the FIR, but the police haven't been able to arrest Kale yet.
Sanjivani Kale, wife of Gajanan Kale, had registered a complaint against him in Nerul Police station on August 12. Based on the complaint, an offence has been registered under IPC Sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 498-A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Atrocities act 1989.
Since the registration of the offence, Nerul cops have failed to nab Kale, even though Navi Mumbai Police had formed different teams to arrest him.On Saturday, the Thane sessions court heard an anticipatory bail application. Sanjivani Kale, who was present during the hearing, claimed, "If Kale is given protection from arrest, her life will be in danger".
