mid-day's report yesterday brought to the fore, the 180 potholes on a private road near Daulat Nagar off the Milan Subway-S V Road junction - that, too, in a stretch of 500 metres. Some of the potholes were huge, measuring as much as 3x3 metres and having a depth of nearly 10 inches.

Locals said they have been complaining about the shoddy condition of the street for many years, but no action has been taken. The road is under the purview of a developer, who has to hand it over to the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA), which in turn has to give it over to the BMC.

The developer has constructed a building under the slum rehabilitation scheme, and under this project, has also to hand over the road. Until yesterday no such steps had been taken.

However, it was seen that the work to repair the road has begun, with tar and stone crush having been brought near the craters. Repair work is expected to begin soon. Despite several calls and messages, SRA chief Nirmalkumar Deshmukh was unavailable for comment.
