Woman sets herself, family on fire, two dead

Upset after a quarrel with her husband, A woman set herself, her three children and her husband on fire in Mulund on Sunday night.

Jyoti Korde (26), a resident of Shanu building, Vithal Nagar, died with her three-year-old daughter Siddhi. According to the police, the husband and wife started fighting after Jyoti did not serve him mutton curry in a bowl.

After which she set the house on fire. The incident took place at 1.30 in the morning.

The whole family was trapped in fire, including her husband, and two other kids- Nisha (5) and Sarvesh (3 months) who were immediately rushed to Mulund Civil hospital and was later shifted to Airoli burn hospital. Both the children are in critical condition.

While a case of suicide has been registered against Jyoti, the matter is being investigated further, police added.
