A day after a woman bus conductor was allegedly molested and beaten up in Kalyan, Mumbai witnessed yet another case of a woman being attacked.
A 25-year-old lady was allegedly attacked in the early morning hours on Thursday in the ladies' compartment of a local train here.
Apoorva Chakravarthy was allegedly attacked and robbed by an unidentified assailant inside the second class compartment of a Churchgate-bound local train.
Apoorva, who recently got married, boarded the train at around 4.50am from Bhayander station. When the train reached Mira Road, the accused jumped into the running train and began hitting Apoorva on her forehead with a weapon.
Later he tried to scratch her and snatched her necklace and bangles and fled as soon as the train entered Dahisar station.
The case has been registered with the Vasai GRP who are investigating the matter.
