A 22-year-old from Delhi has been arrested by the Kurla police for allegedly killing his uncle with his aunt, with whom he was in love. According to officials, the two were having an affair for the last eight years and in the hope of being together, they killed his uncle in Delhi.
Sohail Moharam Ali Khan was having an affair with his aunt Salma for the last eight years
Police officials said the accused, identified as Sohail Moharam Ali Khan, resided with his uncle Asir Khan since his birth in Rajbeer Colony in New Delhi. Cops believe that his aunt Salma instigated Sohail to murder Asir, so that they could live happily ever after.
Taking her suggestion to heart, the two strangled Asir to death on Sunday at his home, following which Sohail fled to Mumbai. However, Salma was arrested by the local Delhi cops. An official from Kurla police station told MiD DAY, "We received information that a certain individual had killed his uncle and fled to Mumbai. We then laid a trap at Sohail's Kurla residence and arrested him. After his arrest, Sohail confessed that he had murdered his uncle and that his aunt had provoked him."
The officer added that Sohail, who had moved to Mumbai five years ago and was living at Lion Garden in Kurla, was repentant, as his uncle was the one who had raised him since childhood. The Delhi cops will come to the city today to gain custody of Sohail. Both he and his aunt have been booked under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
