Nazia Sayeed got down to the tracks alongside platform one and started walking towards the approaching train on Wednesday, a senior RPF official said on Thursday. A few passengers raised an alarm, following which two youths jumped onto the tracks and rescued the woman with help of RPF and GRP officials, he said.

The incident took place in the afternoon at Vikhroli station platform number 1. Bystanders were yelling at her to move but she didn't.

When she refused to get off the tracks, two male commuters from another platform got down and pulled her out. She was taken to the Kurla GRP chowky, where she was questioned.

The police said that Sayeed decided to end her life after a disagreement with her mother.

The entire incident was captured by the CCTV camera installed at the station. The official said the woman, a divorcee, wanted to end her life as she was upset with her family.
