The hanging body of a 19-year-old woman was found yesterday morning inside a building in Virar. The house where her body was found is adjacent to hers in Katkari pada and is uninhabited. The deceased, Pooja Solanki, did not leave behind any suicide note and her family is mum about a possible reason behind the extreme step.
The house usually remains locked from outside, but yesterday morning the locals found the door locked from inside. Through the open window, they found the hanging body, which has been sent for autopsy. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been filed in the Virar police station.
In a separate incident, a 40-year-old ended his life on Saturday by jumping from the seventh floor of a building where he resides. Though it is not clear why Akshay Rajput took the plunge from the Durwasa building, sources claim that he might be upset with his health, as he was suffering from diabetes since a long time. In this case too, his family members are silent.
After he committed suicide, he was rushed to Life care hospital around 8.30 pm, from where he was taken to Lions hospital. He was declared dead upon arrival, after which the Tulinj police registered an ADR.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Rajput was an active Bahujan Vikas Aghadi party worker of ward number 86. He lived with his family on the 7th floor of the building, at Achole road.
