Cops on alert at Uran
The Uran terror attack scare that kept residents on their toes was nothing more than a 12-year-old schoolgirl's imagination. The girl, whose identity has been kept a secret was left off with a mild warning after making the revelation.
According to a report by the Times of India, she claimed to have first reported the "presence of 4-5 Pathan suit-clad men speaking in a different language and carrying what looked like weapons".
This sent security establishments into a tizzy just four days after the Uri attack left 18 Army personnel dead.
However, after getting questioned a couple of days after Uran was put on high alert and a massive search operation covering land, air and sea failed to trace the suspects, she confessed to have spread the word that she had spotted them in Uran "for some thrill" after getting inspiration from viewing pictures of Islamic State terrorists wearing black clothes and flashing automatic weapons.
