A senior police inspector and a sub-inspector of the Turbhe MIDC police station were suspended on Tuesday by the Navi Mumbai police commissioner for registering a false case against a builder from Navi Mumbai. According to police, a case was registered at Turbhe MIDC police station against Metro Builders and others for forging documents for a plot at Nerul, on October 17, 2017, under sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the Indian Penal Code.
Sanjay Yadav, sub-inspector, was the investigating officer who arrested Suresh Jain, a builder. The complainant was Ketan Chugh. Jain gave an application to Hemant Nagrale, Commissioner of Police, Navi Mumbai, claiming a false offence was registered against him at the instance of Chugh. An inquiry conducted by Nilesh Raut, assistant commissioner of police, Navi Mumbai Crime Branch, prime facie revealed that Chugh, Sunil Bhanushali, Sunny Lahoriya and Yadav in connivance, registered the offence and got Jain arrested. Jain claimed Yadav also confined his son Hitesh and demanded Rs 5 crore.
On the complaint of Jain, a case was registered at Turbhe MIDC police station under sections 384, 342, 323, 504 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Chugh, Bhanushali, Lahoriya and Yadav, sub-inspector of Turbhe MIDC. Ramchandra Deshmukh, Senior Police Inspector, Turbhe MIDC police station was also suspended as the case was registered under his supervision. Sunny Lahoriya is the son of Sunil Lahoriya of SK Builders from Navi Mumbai who was shot dead outside his Vashi office.
