The newly inaugurated fragrance garden at Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) is turning out to be a big hit among the morning and evening walkers visiting the park. Spread across four acres, the fragrance garden has 68 different types of medicinal and aromatic plants because of which walkers get different fragrances during the morning and evening.

The authorities have also put up small information boards mentioning the common and scientific names of the plants. Chief Conservator of Forests and SGNP Field Director Vikas Gupta said, "We have opened the fragrance garden at SGNP last month and in just a month's time it has become a talking point among the walkers who visit the park in the morning and evening.
People are enjoying the walk and the beautiful experience that this garden is providing." Sachin Repal, Assistant Conservator of Forests, SGNP told mid-day, "A lot of planning and efforts have gone into the development of the garden and we are happy that people have loved this concept.
There's some pending landscaping work which will be completed soon." A fountain and waterfall have also been created. The work on the garden had started in February last year and it was thrown open last month by Forest Secretary Vikas Kharge.
