A car accident in Thane's Ghodbundar road left three critically injured and one dead. The car involved, a Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, carried four people at the time of the incident.
The three passengers and the driver were rushed to the Thane civil hospital, however, 20-year-old Mehtab Qureshi was declared dead upon arrival. The accident is reported to have occured after the car skidded on an oil and coolant spill near Wonder Mall, and lost control.
A report in the Indian Express, quotes a traffic police official as having said, "The driver tried to control the car, and in that process, rammed into the divider. All four people in the car, including the driver, were rushed to the local hospital, from where they were taken to the civil hospital."

The report also quotes an official from the Thane Municipal Corporation's disaster management cell as having added, "The incident affected traffic, but we have managed to siphon off the oil mixture from the road. An accidental death report was filed." The three survivors are currently undergoing treatment for their injuries.
