Two current and a former corporator of Congress from Mumbra, have deserted the party and joined the Nationalist Congress Party, ahead of the Thane Municipal elections
Two current and a former corporator of Congress from Mumbra, have deserted the party and joined the Nationalist Congress Party, ahead of the Thane Municipal elections.
Corporators Rajan Narayan Kine and Reshma Patil, and Sunita Satpute, a former corporator, joined the party on Tuesday in the presence of Ajit Pawar and Jitendra Awhad, MLA, Mumbra-Kalwa.
Now only four corporators of the Congress remain in the Thane Municipal Corporation. These are Manoj Shinde and Narayan Pawar from Thane, and Asiya Qureshi and Sajiya Ansari from Mumbra.
Kine was till 2010, in Shiv Sena, and then shifted to Congress. "Working in any party is not the aim, but to work for public is general is more important," he said.
Jitendra Awhad, NCP MLA from Mumbra-Kalwa said, "I am happy that when most of corporators are moving towards BJP and Shiv Sena, these people joined NCP."
