A 28-year-old man from Ganesh Puri in Bhiwandi, killed his 26-year-old wife on May 27 and dumped her body in the Tungareshwar jungle, after she refused to accompany him to distribute his brother's wedding cards.
Kamlesh Nokte wanted to distribute his brother's wedding invitations along with his wife last month. But Kamlesh's wife Sunita refused. The two then had a fight. He then took Sunita to the Tungareshwar Jungle, strangled her and returned to Bhiwandi. Kamlesh then lodged a missing complaint of Sunita on June 5. After this her sister spoke to the police saying she doubted Kamlesh as he would hit Sunita.
The Ganesh Puri police then arrested Kamlesh who later confessed. The police have booked Kamlesh for murder under Section 302 of the IPC. "They handed him to Valiv police station," said Inspector Mahesh Patil from Valiv Police station.
