Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray, who underwent an angioplasty at a suburban hospital, is stable and will be in the ICU till Thursday.
"His condition is stable and he is doing fine," Dr Narendra Trivedi, Vice-President of the Lilavati Hospital, said on Wednesday.
Thackeray was admitted to the private hospital on Monday and underwent angioplasty, a technique of mechanically widening a narrowed or obstructed blood vessel, yesterday.
The 83-year-old Thackeray will be in the ICU for one more day and will be shifted tomorrow to a special room, where he will be under observation for two more days before he is discharged, Trivedi said.
The Sena patriarch is ailing for the last few years, leaving day-to-day functioning of his over 40-year-old party to son Uddhav.
Thackeray spent around a week in the hospital last month after complaining of breathlessness.
