State revenue minister Chandrakant Patil has decided to approach the cyber crime cell today after his official Twitter handle was hacked. Incidentally, his decision follows a tweet by an opposition party leader criticising the state government, which was 'liked' by Patil's Twitter handle.

Chandrakant Patil took to Twitter to confirm that his official handle was hacked

The public relations team that handles his Twitter account informed the senior BJP leader, who also oversees the PWD department, about the hacking incident, last night. A source said, "Yesterday, Dhannanjay Munde, opposition leader of the state legislative council, had tweeted criticising the government. While nobody from Chandrakant Patil's PR team reacted to that tweet, the team noticed after some time that the same had been 'liked' from the minister's official account." Late last night, Patil confirmed the hacking incident in a tweet.
