"My sister Sunita and her husband Amit, along with his brother Sachin and father-in-law Vasant, had planned the visit over the long weekend. I received a call from the police in the early hours of Wednesday stating that my relatives had met with an accident and were in the hospital. When I reached there, I found out that all four had died," said Gaurav Gaikwad, brother of Sunita Kedare (30), one of the deceased.

Vasant's sister Maya Pawar said, "They had gone to their village to attend the final rituals of a relative. But this accident just finished an entire family. Vasant and his two sons were the breadwinners. Vasant's wife, his two daughters and his old mother are dependent on them. Now after all of them have died, the remaining family members are going to be helpless."
Pawar added that the government should help the Kedare family, as the two daughters are yet to be married. Vasant's wife Shobha is already in a state of trauma while her two daughters, Ujawala and Deepu are shocked to process the tragedy that has befallen them.
Police says
Police sub-inspector Manik Kature of Narpoli police station said, "The driver of the truck did not flee the spot and was brought to the police station. Investigations revealed that Amit was driving the car. After crashing into the divider, the car crashed into the truck, killing all four on the spot. A case under section 304(A) [Causing death by negligence], 279 (A) [Rash driving or riding on a public way], 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees) of the IPC and 184 (Driving dangerously) of the Motor Vehicle Act has been registered against the driver of the car."
Gaikwad complained, "The police has registered the case against our relatives instead of the truck driver."
