In a span on just six days huts of Slumdog Millionaire stars - Rubina Quraishi and Azharuddin Shaikh u2013 have been razed twice.
Western Railway officials started pulling down the shanties early on Wednesday morning. Railway officials claimed that there huts had encroached on its property and family of and Rubina and Azhar are no different.
In the scuffle with a railway official, Rubina's father Rafiq was also injured. He was later taken to Bhabha Hospital, in Bandra, for treatment.
On May 14, the BMC had demolished Garib Nagar hutment in Bandra, where Rubina and Azhar, stay. On Wednesday, it was Western Railway who razed the illegal shanties.
When the BMC demolished the shanties on May 14, they reasoned, "These are illegal encroachments are an obstruction in cleaning the nullah. Due to the encroachment the width of nullah has been reduced from 25ft to 8 ft. Every monsoon we have to demolish these structures. This time it is getting attention because of these stars. But that is no excuse," said Assistant Municipal Commissioner Mistry.
