39-year-old ENT surgeon, Dr Vikram Khanna, who was missing since last Friday, was traced to Karjat on Thursday.
Karjat Police traced the missing doctor and are taking him back to his home in Sion.
The senior doctor had reportedly left after writing a farewell note in which he blames his inability to handle the mounting pressure and falling income as the reason for his disappearance.
A Mumbai Police spokesperson confirmed that Dr Khanna, an ear-nose-throat specialist, had been traced to Karjat railway station in Raigad district.
Dr Khanna's family had lodged a missing person's complaint with the Sion police.
According to his wife, Rajani, who is a professor with a junior college in Bhandup, her husband had never exhibited any signs signs of depression or anxiety. The couple has a 10-month-old daughter, Reet, and reside at Sun Rays housing society in Sion (East) with Khanna's parents.
