Candidates allege electricity issues, unclean classrooms and poor supervision

Candidates who went to the Bombay Teacher Training College in Colaba on Saturday morning to appear for their SAT examinations realised that the centre was not equipped to conduct the tests.

The building that happens to be located near Metro House, which caught fire on Thursday, was in a deplorable condition. Not only were the classrooms unclean, they also had no electricity. Moreover, the examination began an hour later than scheduled. SAT is the qualifying test for undergraduate education in the USA. Candidates can register for the test online on the official website from where test centers can be selected.
Sakshi Ganji, one of the students, said, "It was shocking to see that the examination centre was not prepared to conduct the test. This is an international-level test. For the first half hour after the examination began, there was no supervision due to the chaos."
Sharada Ganji, Sakshi's mother, said, "We finally began taking control of the situation by asking for help from people we know to ensure that electricity is back at
the building."
A professor who was looking after the arrangements, said on condition of anonymity, "Due to the recent fire at Metro House, the electricity supply to the building was affected. The issue was soon resolved and we ensured that candidates got enough time to appear for the examination."
