Shiv Sena on Tuesday nominated Gopikishan Bajoria's name for Maharashtra Council elections from Vidarbha region, scheduled on December 18.
Bajoria, sitting MLC, would contest from local government body of Akola-Washim-Buldhana region. BJP announced candidature of Prasad Hire from Nashik for graduate constituency polls.
Earlier, BJP had declared Madhu Chavan and Ashok Mankar's candidature for the Council polls. Chavan from Mumbai and Mankar from Nagpur would contest from local government bodies.
There are nine vacant seats in the Council, comprising eight for local bodies and one for graduates constituency.
