After months of arguments put forward by the family of slain Gurgaon gangster Sandeep Gadoli, the Metropolitan Magistrate Court ordered a judicial inquiry into his death.
Gadoli was shot dead in an Andheri hotel on February 7 in an allegedly staged encounter by the Gurgaon police. Following the incident, a Special Investigating Team (SIT) arrested the four Gurgaon policemen involved along with Gadoli's girlfriend, Divya Pahuja. All the accused are in judicial custody.
However, Gadoli's family, particularly his sister Sudesh Kataria and brother Kuldeep Gadoli, were not satisfied with the investigation and had filed a request for a judicial inquiry in May.
They also put the same request before the Supreme Court, but the SC dismissed their application as they had already approached the magistrate court.

Sudesh's lawyer, Tanveer Nikam, told mid-day, "This is a positive order for us. Judicial inquiry means that the magistrate will look into the inquiry conducted by the SIT."
The SIT has so far submitted the chargesheet before the court, but it is yet to be filed. This is likely to happen today.
