On December 4, mid-day had, in its report, pointed out the shoddy condition of four major roads in the city Daulat Nagar in Santacruz (West), Kasturba Road in Borivli (East), the stretch between Western Express Highway (WEH) and Aarey market inside Aarey Milk Colony, and the Dharavi bridge.

The article showed that the private road in Santacruz had potholes on the patch going towards S V Road junction from nearby Sane Guruji School, inconveniencing motorists and pedestrians.

The road is under the purview of SRA, whose chief, Nirmalkumar Deshmukh, had promised that repair work would be carried out at the earliest. Work started late on Thursday night and the undulations and even surface are being fixed.

In the past, this paper has drawn attention to the deplorable condition of the street, which counted as many as 180 potholes on a 500-metre stretch before the monsoon.

Authorities had then, in a knee-jerk reaction, repaired half of the road. The remaining is being taken care of now, almost six months later.
