Tax evader Hasan Ali Khan's aide Kashinath Tapuriah has reportedly named several politicians, who helped him in money laundering, during interrogation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). The 74-year-old Kolkata-based businessman has named former Commonwealth Games chief organiser Suresh Kalmadi, former minister Renuka Chaudhary, expelled Samajwadi MP and actor Jaya Prada, Congress MP Subbirami Reddy, ex-MP AS Chaudhary and the late AP chief minister Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy.

Tapuriah said Congress leader Jagdish Tytler introduced Ali to Chaudhary. Ali wanted to present Chaudhary with a Rs 1.20 crore diamond, which he took from Mumbai hawala operator Abbas Naqvi. He said Subbirami Reddy was a close friend of Ali, who shared a 'good relationship' with Jaya Prada. Choudhary and Tytler have denied having any links to Tapuriah. "I am upset and I will definitely take legal recourse. He (Tapuriah) needs to prove he knows me or has met me. He is dropping names to wriggle out of the situation and we politicians are left defenseless. We are bashed and left to prove ourselves," said Choudhary.
