Thane: A Congress corporator who is one of the accused in the builder Suraj Parmar suicide case has alleged that he received a threat from the fugitive gangster Ravi Pujari.
Congress corporator Vikrant Chavan, who alongwith three others is facing a case of abetment following Parmar's suicide here on October 7, received a threatening call yesterday.
Parmar, in his suicide note, had said that certain corporators and officials at the Thane Municipal Corporation were harassing him for bribes and stalling his projects.
According to Chavan, whose pre-arrest bail application is pending before the Bombay High Court and who has got interim protection from arrest, somebody identifying himself as Ravi Pujari called his office in Vartak Nagar here.
The caller, according to the complaint filed by Janardan Chikne, a local Congress worker who took the call, said he was Pujari speaking from London, he had invested money in Parmar's projects, and if he didn't recover it, he will bump off Chavan.
The caller also said that Chavan should call him back. Inspector B M Daima is carrying out further investigation.
