On Tuesday the weather bureau assured Mumbaikars that it would not rain for the next couple of days.
The meteorological department had said that the city would face light showers.
However, Mumbaikars woke up to traffic jams, delayed train and disrupted flights.
It has been pouring for the last 12 hours, flooding the usual low-lying areas like Worli, Wadala, Sewri, Hindmata, Matunga, Parel, Sion and Kurla.

Road
The traffic on Eastern and Western express Highway is moving slow. The Andheri subway has been shut down. Traffic at Hindmata, Matunga and Parel is also moving slowly. The condition is worse in the suburbs.
Trains
Both Western and Central railway are running late more than 30 minutes. Railway tracks at Curry Road, Grant Road and Sewri were submerged.
Air
Both inbound and outbound flights were delayed by more than 20 minutes.
