A 30-year-old Republican Party of India (RPI) member from Ulhasnagar was brutally killed by a group of people on Tuesday night


A 30-year-old Republican Party of India (RPI) member from Ulhasnagar was brutally killed by a group of people on Tuesday night.

The deceased, identified as Deepak Bhaskar Sansare was from Ulhasnagar and was called for an settlement over an earlier dispute. He was assualted by a group of people.

The Ulhasnagar police have registered a case and are further investigating the matter.

After the murder, the RPI members from Ulhasnagar broke down few cars and auto-rickshaw to protest.

The incident took place at around 10:15 pm in front Kala palace bungalow, Madhuban chowk, Ulhasnagar 2. Police officials said, "Sansare was called for an settlement over a dispute and was assaulted badly with a sharp weapon. He suffered major injuries on his body parts and was shifted to civic hospital where he was declared dead."

The police during investigation found that the accused Gautam Shirandor, Sajan Tak and Harshal Bendre hit deceased with a sharp weapon and Manoj Karotiya, Darpan Karotiya, Babu Karotiya and Sunil Karotiya assaulted with an iron rod. "We have registered a case against all these people for murder. We have also found that few locals broke down around five vehicles as a mark of protest. Further investigation is on," added a officer.

According to the police, the deceased is a resident of Prabhud nagar, Bhuddha Vihar near Dolphin club, C block, Ulhasnagar 3.

A case has been register at Ulhasnagar police station under section 302, 120 (b), 143, 144, 147, 148 and 149 of the Indian Penal Code and different sections of the Mumbai Police Act.
